Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan headed to Shangri-La's Far Eastern Plaza Hotel in Taipei to attend “The 17th Annual Global Views Leaders Forum” on October 30. He served as the keynote speaker on the topic of “Sustainable Development of Smart City: Taoyuan Experience” and shared Taoyuan's experience on smart city. Mayor Cheng said that in recent years, the application, exchanges and competitions of smart city are very popular. Taoyuan City was honored as the 2019 Intelligent Community of the Year in June and earned international recognition. However, winning is not the only purpose. "User-friendly" is more important. Mayor Cheng hoped to truly help citizens through various smart city services, and generate greater value. Meanwhile, Mayor Cheng hoped that the development of digital nation and smart city in the future would serve as the driving force for Taiwan's overall development, so that each city can engage in experimental projects and create more smart city applications under the concept of citizenism.
