Taoyuan City: Political and Economic Center of Taoyuan

With an area of 34.8km2 and a population of 401,096 people, Taoyuan City is the political and economic center of the county and where the Taoyuan County Government is located. It is currently the most populated city in the county and it is where the railway station and freeway exits are located. This makes transportation very convenient. Taoyuan city benefits from the railway grade separation, and will become even more prosperous in the future and it is the capital city of northern Taoyuan.

Jingfu temple, an ancient structure, is a landmark in Taoyuan City. From the temple along Jhongjheng Road down to the railway station, shops are found on both sides, with their hustle and bustle. At night, the night market is crowded with people and cars, with bustling sounds all over the night market. In this way, the vitality of old streets can be taken in at a glance.

The railway station is the boundary between the old and the new streets of Taoyuan City. In addition, the business in front of the station is very prosperous, featuring shops, large department stores, and financial organizations. Behind the station, the district is primarily industry based, featuring a wide range of factories. This is indeed another view.

In response to the development of Taoyuan metropolis and the scenery and business opportunities around the international airport, new high-rise buildings have been built around Ta Shing West Road, Guoji Road, towering into the sky with spacious streets. It is taking on the features of an international metropolis.

The two major relaxation spots for local residents include Wenchang Park and Hutoushan Park. The former is laid out in a European garden style with long and winding paths located in the urban area and is an idea spot for leisure and recreation during holidays. The latter is located on a gentle slope with gorgeous scenery and fresh air.

Though it is also in the urban area, it has a heavenly atmosphere and is suitable for morning hiking.
